I love to oat, oat, oat, opples & bononos!

Brazos has entered the world of solid foods! He had been eating a little bit of rice cereal here and there but the first time we tried it a couple months ago in the bowl, he was still thrusting his tongue and didn't quite get it. So after his 6 month appt, we got the go ahead to start solids full on - which means FRUITS! :o)

So we went with Bananas (and then applesauce a few days later) and switch over to oatmeal instead of rice cereal. I'm still pumping breastmilk for his cereal and he gets BF in the morning when he wakes up but the rest of the day he's getting formula. After a rough month of clogged ducts, being far too busy for all my scheduled pump times at work, and a yucky case of mastitis that had me down with a 102* fever for three days, my milk supply has dwindled down to nothing. So, I'm accepting defeat [somewhat] and I'm switching over to morning and night BF only. It was a tough decision but its been a couple weeks and now I feel like it was the right one. I feel less stressed and Braz will be on all solid foods in a couple months during the day and I will [hopefully] be able to supply the rest of his milk morning and night.

Daddy can help feed Brazos now too which makes Mommy happy and I think Daddy is very happy to be able to be a little more involved with Braz too. At first, Braz wasn't getting the "open your mouth" part of eating from a spoon so it was a little frustrating to say the least. And he didn't seem to happy about it either!

Struggling to keep Braz's attention was the biggest problem.

Daddy's goofy faces and noises were about the best attention-grabbers.

It took a few days and lots of trying but I think he's finally got the hang of it...

Now he LUNGES for the spoon, scrunches his little nose, and opens his mouth as wide as he can. He's probably the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life but I may be a little biased.

Jason's Graduation: Part I

We drove to KC a couple days before Jason's graduation (Wed) since we had Jason's presidents dinner the night before. I love the big windmills in Oklahoma.  We made it into KC fairly late and got to our hotel The Great Wolf Lodge. The keys weren't in the packet when we got up to the room so daddy ran back down to get them while we waited in the hall. Brazos looks way too old throwin up the dueces in this pic... Daddy and Brazos trying on their wolf ears.  Brudders Hudson was very happy to be free of his car seat! Daddy took the boys to check out the hotel and get some energy out before bed while Hudson and I settled in. Everything was decorated for Christmas and was so beautiful! The next day I went into the office to work so daddy was at the hotel with the boys for the day, waiting on Mimi and Popo. They went to the restaurant downstairs for breakfast.  Probably the sweetest picture of those wolf ears you'll ever see in your life. <3 Thursday night, Jason and I went...

FAF: Another 1 Bites the Dust!

Starting weight: 166.4 Last week's weight: 163.8 Current weight: 162.8 Weight +GAIN / -LOSS this week: -1.0 Total weight lost: -3.6 Another week of weight loss! Whoop! Its not much but after another slow exercising week, I'll GLADLY take it! I'm very close [again] to what I weighed when I got knocked up with my pwecious little man so I'm feeling good about that fo' sho'... Working out this week has been rough. I haven't really made/had time for a good solid workout so I'm a little disappointed about that but...eh, I'll just keep squeezing them in there whenever I can and as much as I can. We have a gym membership over by my usual sitter so once she's off maternity leave, I'll be able to run to the gym at night before or after I pick up the monster. My diet this week has been unhealthy - not in what I've eaten, just the quantity. I've hardly eaten a thing! My dinner portions have been cut in half, if not more, so I feel that's a po...

Jason's Graduation: Part II

Dr. Allen, DC 4/5 of our marriage has been spent working towards this day. To say we are excited would be a great understatement. I can't even put into words how excited/happy/scared/proud/relieved, etc, etc, etc we are. There just are no words. Jason has worked tirelessly towards this goal. Countless hours of studying. Sacrificing time with me and the kids. And all the work he put in advertising and recruiting patients into the clinic. Personal training early mornings and late nights to help makes ends meet.  And I think of all the sacrifice we've made as a family. Living in a townhouse and then a tiny apartment. I've been the primary provider and a mostly single parent during some stages. And a constant cheerleader and standing behind pushing. We've both been pushing uphill for what seems like forever towards this goal. And we've made it. Not to discount his hard work, because he was the one who really accomplished this goal but I like to think we accomplished thi...
