Brazos is 5 Months!

Gahhhh , the cuteness! ~ SQUEEEEEE ~ My wittle cutie patootie monster baby is 5 months old (as of 5 DAYS AGO - geez I'm a horrid mother)... I suck so this is going to be short: New things include: saying ' da - da - da - da - da ' and many many other new syllables - he's quite the jabber box, fake crying, possibly fake coughing - I can't tell if its a real cough or not he doesn't really have a cold?, starting to reach when someone wants to hold him, a rolling MACHINE but not quite to crawling, still working on the sitting unattended he is soooo very close, loves to "jump" in your lap when you are standing him up (I think its time for one of those Johnny-jump-up things), thinks his big brother and daddy are hilarious, is a giggling fool, and we are starting him very slowly on cereal. I'm sure there's more but I'll edit it in later as I think of things... Want to note though: I love this little man more and more every day. He's my ha

What's New With Us...

I love being a mommy :o) So, what's new with the Allen's you ask? Loads! I'll give you a not-so-quick and long winded update for each of us. Jason Jason had shoulder surgery June 3rd to repair a slightly torn rotator cuff and some torn cartilage. So he's a gimp and constantly uses the joke "It wasn't me, it was the one armed man..." He's cheesy but I love him. Moving on, he's feeling great and thinking this surgery was a breeze and overdoing it if you as me (Edited to add: He had an appointment on the 9 th with his doc who told him he was overdoing it - I love being right). Case in point: The evening after he had the surgery - just a mere 3 hours afterwards - we went to watch Jake play his baseball game an hour and a half away in the 90 degree heat. Brilliant. He said he would be/was fine but he looked a little green around the gills from the anesthesia wearing off after an hour or so. His reason for pushing himself to go - because he told Jake

F*O*U*R Months!

Actually today Brazos is 4 Months and 1 week...but Momma's been busy. Four Months, wow. I say it all the time, but I can't believe we are here already. Brazos is growing way too fast. We had his doctor's appointment on the 26th and he weighed 16.4 lbs, 75ish%, and is 27 inches, 92%!! Nurse thinks he's going to be tall - I have my doubts. HAHA! He got his second round of shots and did much better this time than the first time. He was more ticked off that she was holding him down than the actual shots and he screamed like crazy - then he was all better when Mommy picked him up. I love that :o) I took the day off just in case he felt crummy all day like he did last time but I had given him Tylenol before we went to his appointment and apparently that must have helped because he was in a pretty good mood all day. He did snooze most of the day (in my arms I might add - he's spoiled what can I say). We (Dr Boylan and I) decided that he's doing pretty well on breastmi
