20 Weeks Ultrasound

More details on the ultrasound Friday:

Weight gained - 10 BIG ONES (Its a conspiracy I tell ya, the scales are OFF at the two buildings)
Heart Rate (mommy) - 112/80 Still doing good...
Heart Rate (Baby Boy) - 145
Baby's Weight - 15 oz (Almost a WHOLE POUND, he's in the 90th percentile on his weight)

All the organs, weight, measurements looked good (perfect actually, according to the doctor)...except...Baby has a Single Umbilical Artery or a 2 Vessel Cord. Baby's normally have a 3 vessel cord - 1 vein and 2 arteries. My little punkin only has one artery.

What does this mean?

Well, an SUA can be a flag for a genetic disorder or an abnormality of an organ, etc. Weight gain is also a big concern for the baby during the last trimester. I have to have a Level II Ultrasound done by a parinatologist (which is a higher detail scan) and I'm [im]patiently waiting for the nurse to call me back with that appointment date. They will check the organs like heart, kidneys, etc and measure my baby boy more closely to make sure nothing looks out of the ordinary. I will also have to have ultrasounds done multiple times in the last 3 months to make sure he's packin on the pounds like he's supposed to.

Am I freaking out??

Yes and no. My doctor didn't seemed concerned in the slightest and she told us not to worry. She said he looks perfect other than the SUA, and we just have to keep a closer eye on him - which means I get to see my little man more often! Hey, a silver lining is a silver lining. Also, I've of course checked out several articles and sites and read other SUA baby's stories on line and MOST of them turn out 100% healthy. All of these positives things aside, I'm still worried. A little. I tend to go with the philosophy "Don't worry until there's something to worry about". But I also hope for the best and plan for the worst. I feel very strongly that everything is just fine with my lil' guy and he reassures me SEVERAL times a day by kicking my insides to let me know he's still moving around in there - which is another good sign that he's healthy. If there were major genetic defects (i.e. Downs, Tricsomy 18), they would've caught them on the anatomy scan, so I'm not quite so concerned with that one. Plus, if anything physical abnormalities show up after he's born, we have a NICU at our hospital where I'll be delivering - right there, at the same hospital. No having to transport my little baby after he's born to another location which means he gets medical treatment that much faster.

I'm staying positive. I have to or I'll never sleep again till after he's born. He's always in the back of my mind and I've doubled the amount of times a day I ask myself "Is he ok in there?". But, I feel I'm still at a normal level of worry from where I was before the ultrasound. I was hoping to go down a notch on the worry scale but nope, not yet anyway...Does that ever really happen as a parent?!

I'll keep everyone posted. Prayers and good thoughts are appreciated.

Ramblings of a Panic Attack

I’m having a panic attack. These stupid meds are killing me. I hate them. Stick with it, stick with it, stick with it. I know it’s the meds. I just have to get through this and relax for a couple weeks. I hate this job. It’s not even that bad it’s just HORRIBLY boring. I don’t want to do this every day. I appreciate learning the process and gaining experience but it’s not what I like to do. I don’t even like accounting that much to begin with but there are aspects I like and I know it. The pay is killing me. I need money. I can’t continue to be completely broke before the first week of the month is over. Collections calls ringing all day. I’m applying to jobs like crazy. I’m trying so hard. I’m just going to keep pushing forward. Keep. Pushing. Forward. I hate that I wanted a life with Jason. That I was too blind to realize what he was. That I was ok with him even from the very beginning when I knew better. Why didn’t I want better things for myself? Seeing him makes me want to vomit.

Tersinar Christmas 2015

After graduation, we raced down to Hepler to spend Christmas with my family and mom and dad's. We ordered chicken for dinner (of course - yum yum!) and we had some of the traditional Christmas goodies too, like pie and Grandma Sonja's cinnamon apples, French cookies and cheese ball.  Hudson made the rounds with everyone :) Uncle Dustin is the best to play with After dinner and some visiting, it was time to open presents! The loot! Kids first of course. The anarchy! Hudson among the shreds of wrapping paper Big kids' turn! Opening my Royals blanket <3 I LOVE IT! Thanks Jen :) I got Grandma's name again :) Hudson helped play Santa Mom loved her gift from Heather - a frame with all our family's pictures in it. Jason's gift from Raymond. The kiddos watched a movie or two after we were finished opening gifts.  Later after everyone left, mom, dad and us siblings (minus josh) played Cards Against Humanity... HILARIOUS. Haven't laughed that hard in a very long ti
