A Girl and Her Boys

My baby is one month old... wow, it really does go by so fast! We had his one month appt and he's 12 lbs, 22 1/2 inches. He's gained 3 lbs since his one week appt . Dr. Boylan says he looks perfect! But of course I already knew that. We are getting into a sleeping routine. He goes to bed at 11, wakes up between 1:30 am and 2:30 am and then get up again around 4:30 am. Then he sleeps till about 6 or 7. Its not the greatest nights sleep for mommy but he's gone a couple night with a 4 1/2 hour stretch of sleep so I have high hopes for the future. On 2/15, he surprised mommy and rolled over from his tummy to his back. He did it three more times for daddy about a week later and hasn't done it since but I think we can count it as a milestone reached (very early I might add). He is starting to smile at us, mostly in the mornings, which melts his mommy into a puddle on the floor. He's making 'coo' and 'aah' sounds - adorable - and likes tummy time so ...

Funny thing when you complain... Brazos (pronounce with short vowels instead of long vowels) was born on his due date! So little did I know as I was complaining about my ticker mocking me with one day remaining - I was going to go into labor that night! So, here's the Birth Story: On Monday night (24th), I started having mild contractions around 10:45, which would have been no big deal except I had yet to have ANY painful contractions at all. Jason and I went ahead and laid down and tried to get some sleep and to see if they went away on their own. I didn't get any sleep and the contractions just continued and started getting stronger. I decided to try a hot shower. I thought maybe that may make them subside or at least if they didn't stop, I would have gotten a shower in before going to the hospital (very thankful for this later).
