27 Weeks

Here we all are...me, Baby A, and my squishy puffy cheeks. Fabulous, non?!

So, obviously I'm feeling a little less cute these days, not all my weight is in my belly anymore. Eh, I only semi have an issue with it. Its only going to get worse and I should just enjoy this only time in my life where chubby + pot belly = cute.

Overall, I'm feeling really good. I've been fighting fatigue off and on again, but nothing like I was during the first trimester. I'm amazed at how fast the second trimester has gone and can't believe this is my last week! I am very ready for #3 although I also know that means I can wave bye-bye to the feeling great and say hello to feeling extra bloated and uncomfortable. The swelling has definitely started. My feet and legs are fat, fat, FAT at the end of the day and I can feel it in my hands a little some days too.

The little man is going CRAZY in my belly! I can't tell if he's practicing to become a gymnast or an MMA fighter. He's definitely taking advantage of his freedom to play around in there...well, enjoy while it last baby of mine - you're going to be running out of room soon.

My next appointment is on November 9th and I'm going to have my first ultrasound to check Baby A's growth progress on November 8th. My mom is going to be in KC that day so she's going to the growth scan with me! Yay! So excited for her to get to see the munchkin!! :o) Since we are having so many ultrasounds to make sure baby's growing fat enough, we are leaning against getting the 3D scan done. It would be very cool to get it but...seeing him so much already might take some of the coolness away from it and we would be saving about $175 by NOT doing it. Plus, now that my mom is getting to come up and see him at one of my appointments, there's really no reason to do the 3D. So, I guess we aren't going to do it after all. We'll just have to wait and see what he looks like when he gets here.

My baby shower with my family is scheduled for December 5th. I'm so excited!! J's mom and dad are planning a visit around Thanksgiving (since we aren't going to make it down there this year), so we suggested they come for the shower - and they said YES! So both Grammy and Mimi will be there! I couldn't be happier.

I can't believe October is almost over. The time is just flying by! It's amazing how fast the past 6 months have gone. The next three are going to be over in a blink and then my little munchkin will be here!!! :o)

Starting weight: 166.4 Last week's weight: 163.8 Current weight: 162.8 Weight +GAIN / -LOSS this week: -1.0 Total weight lost: -3.6 Another week of weight loss! Whoop! Its not much but after another slow exercising week, I'll GLADLY take it! I'm very close [again] to what I weighed when I got knocked up with my pwecious little man so I'm feeling good about that fo' sho'... Working out this week has been rough. I haven't really made/had time for a good solid workout so I'm a little disappointed about that but...eh, I'll just keep squeezing them in there whenever I can and as much as I can. We have a gym membership over by my usual sitter so once she's off maternity leave, I'll be able to run to the gym at night before or after I pick up the monster. My diet this week has been unhealthy - not in what I've eaten, just the quantity. I've hardly eaten a thing! My dinner portions have been cut in half, if not more, so I feel that's a po...

When Life Hands You Lemons

Today is the day. Grandpa's visitation and tomorrow's the funeral. The last couple of days its really hit me. He's gone. My Grandpa was a wonderful man. We've all been smiling, laughing and reminising about all the funny things he used to do and say. We fondly remember his sweet tooth and love for all things lemon flavored. But something I never really thought about until now is that he was handed a lot of crappy cards on the health side of life and hasn't been in good health for the last 20 years but I never really heard him complain about it. In fact, every time I saw him he had a huge smile on his face and wanted to know all about what I had been up to and what I was doing. He was so very proud of all of us kids. So proud. Didn't matter what we were doing or what we'd accomplished, his eyes would twinkle with pride. I'm going to miss him terribly. Today and tomorrow are going to be hard but its all the days after that are going to be truly trying... L...
