RIP Dave Mathews 1976 - 2010

April Fool's Day. What a dumb holiday, huh?! I'm terrible at playing pranks. It just feels too mean... I can't think of anything funny that's not too cheezy or too mean to joke about. So, I don't like it. AND, I'm gullible as all get out, and I hate feeling dumb. Like this morning, a friend of mine posted on facebook: RIP Dave Mathews 1976 - 2010. All I was thinking was "Wow, can't believe all the celebrities dying this year..." and "She really loves Dave Mathews I bet she's bummed..." Um, yeah, April Fool's you door knob... Sheesh. J hasn't pulled anything on me yet, so I'm just waiting... we shall see. *shifty eyes*

Goal Update - Day 3

1. Wake up at 6:30 every morning. NO SNOOZE BUTTON. Yesterday morning - got up at 6:40 only to have J come in and snuggle with me (didn't make it out of bed till 7ish but it was worth it) and this morning, BIG FAIL - went to bed late last night and Snoozed the heck out of my alarm this morning. I knew this one would be a very tricky one but I'm gonna keep after it.
2. No facebook at work, not even at lunch. And blogger only at lunch to update on my goal(s) status. Eh, better but still not good. Still doing at lunch and a sneak peak now and then, but overall a VAST improvement from before.
3. DIET - not a strict one but NO snacks in between meals and much smaller portions. Much, much smaller. Again, eh...better. I'm back down to the weight I was when I threw a temper tantrum and gave up on the Acai crap. So, I suppose that is good. Still fighting with the mini candy bars behind me though. That's a toughy.
4. 35 minutes on the stairmaster every night as soon as I get home from work. If I have plans after work, then have to do the stairmaster in the a.m. Any other working out is optional but this is mandatory. SCORE! Ran around the park once and walked around once on Tues night and 35 min on Stairmaster last night. Go me! :)
5. As soon as I get done on the stairmaster, house work for another 30 min. My poor house is in dire need. Yes Tuesday night and not so much last night, but I worked late so I'll let this one slide a tiny bit for last night.

So basically not much improvement made really except I'm very aware of when I am/am not doing these things so that's a start I suppose.

Starting weight: 166.4 Last week's weight: 163.8 Current weight: 162.8 Weight +GAIN / -LOSS this week: -1.0 Total weight lost: -3.6 Another week of weight loss! Whoop! Its not much but after another slow exercising week, I'll GLADLY take it! I'm very close [again] to what I weighed when I got knocked up with my pwecious little man so I'm feeling good about that fo' sho'... Working out this week has been rough. I haven't really made/had time for a good solid workout so I'm a little disappointed about that but...eh, I'll just keep squeezing them in there whenever I can and as much as I can. We have a gym membership over by my usual sitter so once she's off maternity leave, I'll be able to run to the gym at night before or after I pick up the monster. My diet this week has been unhealthy - not in what I've eaten, just the quantity. I've hardly eaten a thing! My dinner portions have been cut in half, if not more, so I feel that's a po...

When Life Hands You Lemons

Today is the day. Grandpa's visitation and tomorrow's the funeral. The last couple of days its really hit me. He's gone. My Grandpa was a wonderful man. We've all been smiling, laughing and reminising about all the funny things he used to do and say. We fondly remember his sweet tooth and love for all things lemon flavored. But something I never really thought about until now is that he was handed a lot of crappy cards on the health side of life and hasn't been in good health for the last 20 years but I never really heard him complain about it. In fact, every time I saw him he had a huge smile on his face and wanted to know all about what I had been up to and what I was doing. He was so very proud of all of us kids. So proud. Didn't matter what we were doing or what we'd accomplished, his eyes would twinkle with pride. I'm going to miss him terribly. Today and tomorrow are going to be hard but its all the days after that are going to be truly trying... L...
